As a family-run hotel, we attach great importance to ensuring that our guests feel at home with us. Whether you are holidaying with your family, travelling alone or staying at our Munich hotel on business, we want you to enjoy a happy and carefree stay at our hotel.
Many of our guests are business travellers, and naturally, over the years, some of them sometimes forget something. We are usually happy to help and quickly resolve the problem. These situations gave us the idea of writing our own to-do list, the checklist for business trips to Munich. This way, you can feel confident in advance that you have thought of everything and can look forward to a relaxed business trip.
Sometimes you have to go on a business trip spontaneously and then there is simply not always time to think long and hard about what exactly you want to take with you. For situations like this alone, a packing list is a real relief and a great help. Depending on where the business trip is going, you can ignore some items on the packing list. Ideally, you should always have a list ready for all business trips. With such a list, you can not only pack more efficiently, but also plan and organise your business trips better in general. Incidentally, a checklist for a business trip should not only focus on your luggage and the contents of your suitcases. The items you should take care of before and after your business trips are also an important part of our list.
As you can see, thanks to our many years of experience with business travel and the needs of business travellers, we can make things much easier for you. That’s why you can rely on us completely as a traveller. Stay with us during your business trip and you will not only have a central starting point, but also a wide range of services, an extra dose of warmth and ideal accommodation for your business trips. We wish you a pleasant journey, a pleasant stay and every success on your business trip.
Our hotel is run by us, a genuine Munich family. And as befits a family-run Munich family hotel, cosiness and, above all, warmth are very important to us. We want to make our guests’ stay as pleasant and welcoming as possible. Because when you stay at our hotel, you become part of the family.
What makes our hotel so family-friendly

Larger family hotels may not be able to respond to customer requests as individually as we do. The best thing to do is to come and visit us with your family and see for yourself.

After a stay of one or two nights and a hearty breakfast, you will be ready to continue your journey. If you are planning a trip to Munich to explore the city, the location of your accommodation is extremely important. Munich is very large, so not every district is actually in the city centre. If you are unsure, you may have to travel long distances to explore the central sights. One of these world-famous places that you should definitely visit is Munich’s English Garden, which is located almost right next to our hotel.
Our hotel offers ideal conditions for visiting the English Garden. The family-run Hotel Hauser is located in Maxvorstadt, directly adjacent to the famous Schwabing district. The streets of Schwabing and Maxvorstadt are home to many sights and restaurants where you can stop for a bite to eat. However, especially in the sunny months, our English Garden, Munich’s green oasis, is the absolute highlight for many guests. The English Garden is a local recreation area right in the centre of Munich and offers countless opportunities for relaxation and sporting activities.
Take advantage of our hotel’s location near the English Garden and visit one of the largest inner-city parks in the world on foot. Our hotel is just a few steps away from the Schwabing district, home to the English Garden. In just 10 minutes, you can comfortably walk to Munich’s green lung. Depending on where you enter the garden, you will arrive directly at the famous Eisbach. This is used by many surfing enthusiasts because of the famous ‘Eisbach wave’, a standing wave. Sports fans meet here and surf in almost any weather. This is always an amazing sight, especially in summer, and something you should see at least once. From here, you can either continue along the Eisbach or follow the course of the Schwabinger to explore the English Garden or walk to the Isar. Of course, we should not forget to mention that Munich’s park is also beautiful in winter, autumn and spring and always worth a visit.
From our hotel at the English Garden, you can also quickly reach the Chinese Tower. Those who are not familiar with it may wonder why there is a Chinese building in the Bavarian capital, right in the centre of the local recreation area. In fact, the tower has a long history dating back to 1789. This was when the English Garden was opened, and with it the tower as a central viewing platform. The question of why it was Chinese architectural style that characterised the building is easily explained. This style was simply in vogue at the time and the intention was to build a modern observation tower.
To date, the observation tower has suffered repeated fire damage and even burned down completely during the Second World War, around 1952. Fortunately, however, it was rebuilt true to the original and reopened to the public as a viewing point around 1960. Nowadays, however, the viewing platform is no longer freely accessible. On the one hand, the surrounding trees are now taller than the building itself and, on the other hand, it is not structurally designed to withstand the expected visitor load. Only the brass bands that play there from time to time have access to the observation tower to delight the area around it with Bavarian atmosphere. So you see, a good atmosphere is never really far away in the English Garden.
When does the music play at the Chinese Tower?
The Balskapelle usually plays when the weather is nice and, of course, when the beer garden is open.
The general days are Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Incidentally, the Chinese Tower has been completely up to date twice in its history… Once when it was built and again in 2002. That’s because it was a pilot project for the installation of Wi-Fi in a public place. Two hotspots were set up on the tower at the time, which was a real innovation back then.
Ideally, you should start the day at our hotel with a hearty and delicious breakfast. This will fortify you for the day and ensure that your body has enough energy to enjoy a wonderful day in the English Garden. After this refreshment, you can set off directly from your accommodation into the countryside.
If your route isn’t quite so direct, it’s always worth taking a little detour through Schwabing. This district is home to the English Garden, but there are many other sights to explore. Whether it’s a short detour to Leopoldstraße, a look through the Siegestor or a drink in the artists’ quarter with its countless bars and pubs – nothing is really far away in Schwabing.
So we won’t linger long in Schwabing and will make our way to the English Garden. Once there, you’ll have a wide range of options for spending your day. In addition to long walks, you can:
As you can see, the possibilities in the English Garden are almost endless. And there is even another one that you should definitely consider. The view from the Monopteros over the park is simply incomparable; the temple can be seen from afar, as it stands on an artificial hill, allowing a view over the grounds. Together with the Chinese Tower, the Monopteros is probably the most famous landmark of the English Garden. But it’s best to take a look for yourself and discover everything the English Garden has to offer.
Are you planning a trip or an entire holiday with your family? Have you already looked at many accommodations but still haven’t found a hotel or guest house that meets your needs? As a family-run hotel, we know exactly what you need and how we can help you make your family trip wonderful. The advantage of our hotel is not only its location and the fact that the English Garden is so close by. Unlike many other accommodations, we also attach great importance to a cosy and truly family-friendly atmosphere. Because we want you to feel comfortable and welcome with us right from the start.

From magnificent historic buildings and lively beer gardens to world-famous museums and galleries, the city has something special to offer every visitor. Our hotel is located in the heart of Munich, making it the ideal starting point for your trip to Munich.
Do you enjoy city breaks, but have never been to Munich? Then you should definitely change that. Because a trip to Munich is more than just a city trip. You will not only visit the Bavarian capital, but also the capital
– Bavarian and international culture
– Bavarian delicacies
– Southern German savoir vivre
– Beer brewing
– And so much more
A city break to Munich needs to be planned, because there are so many sights here that one trip alone is not enough. The best thing to do is ask us at the hotel for a list of all the sights and we will help you plan your stay. As Munich locals, we know that there is so much more to see than ‘just’ the Oktoberfest. But let’s take a look at what your trip to Munich could look like:
Your trip to Munich begins at Munich Airport, one of Germany’s busiest airports. With its modern architecture and a variety of shops and restaurants, the airport offers a pleasant start to your Bavarian adventure. After travelling by S-Bahn and U-Bahn, you can check into your room with us and relax a little after your journey. If you arrive in Munich early in the day, you should seize the opportunity. Our hotel is the ideal starting point for a trip to Munich and for exploring the surrounding area.
One of the first stops on your sightseeing tour should be the English Garden. This impressive park in the middle of the city is worth a trip to Munich on its own. With its vast green spaces, hidden beer gardens and the famous Eisbach stream, the park offers an idyllic oasis of rest and relaxation. Don’t miss the Eisbach wave, where surfers from all over the world show off their skills. A walk along the English Garden takes us past the Monopteros to the Chinese Tower, a historic landmark with a rich history and a cosy beer garden atmosphere. Here, you can’t help but feel at ease and enjoy the Bavarian way of life.
For art lovers, Munich offers a wealth of museums and galleries, including the Alte and Neue Pinakothek, the Pinakothek der Moderne and the Lenbachhaus. Here you can admire masterpieces by Albrecht Dürer, Rembrandt, Picasso and many others and experience the development of art history up close. A particular highlight is a visit to the Glyptothek, a museum of ancient sculpture that presents works from Greek and Roman antiquity.
Of course, no trip to Munich would be complete without sampling the city’s culinary delights. Bavarian cuisine is famous for its hearty dishes such as white sausage, pork knuckle and pretzels, which are served in cosy taverns and beer gardens. A visit to the Hofbräuhaus, one of the oldest beer halls in the city, is a must for every beer lover. Here you can enjoy the famous Bavarian beer in a convivial atmosphere and experience traditional live music.
Another highly recommended attraction is Nymphenburg Palace, a magnificent Baroque palace just outside Munich. With its opulent rooms, lush palace gardens, botanical gardens and the famous Marstallmuseum, the palace offers a fascinating insight into Bavarian royal history. The Royal Hirschgarten is also within walking distance. With its 8,000 seats, it is believed to be the largest beer garden in the world. In addition to enjoying Bavarian beer, you can also see deer and other animals in the enclosures here.
If you enjoy sports or are interested in sporting history, then you should definitely visit the Olympic Hill. It is a wonderful place to hike and offers breathtaking views of the city. The Olympic Hill is one of the highest points in the Bavarian capital. Of course, there are also many opportunities to get active yourself. The Olympic Stadium, the Olympic Swimming Hall, the Olympic Tower and, from a culinary point of view, the ‘Alm’ are definitely worth a visit.
If you are planning a trip to Munich from our hotel, then a visit to the Hofbräuhaus is a must. Here you will be greeted with the words ‘Thirst is worse than homesickness’. That pretty much says it all. Spend a few pleasant hours here and enjoy your short break in Munich.
If you get hungry during your tour of Munich city centre, then you should definitely plan a visit to Munich’s Viktualienmarkt. Here you will find not only the famous Bavarian specialities but also all kinds of delicacies from around the world. The Viktualienmarkt has been an integral part of the Bavarian capital since 1807. And, unsurprisingly, all the stalls are arranged around a wonderful beer garden. The market covers an area of 2 hectares, making it one of Munich’s larger attractions in terms of size. Incidentally, the name Viktualienmarkt says it all. It is derived from the word ‘Viktualien’, which simply means food. Accordingly, most of the goods on offer at the Munich market are food.
Tip:
It is particularly nice to visit the market shortly before opening hours. Here you can experience the real hustle and bustle of Munich city centre and, if you like, enjoy a hearty breakfast.
Incidentally, the market full of delicacies is very easy to reach from Marienplatz. Simply head towards ‘Im Tal’, leaving the town hall on your left, and after a few hundred metres you will find it on your right. The wonderful square opens up beautifully with its colourful hustle and bustle and many delicacies. A visit to the Viktualienmarkt is therefore an absolute must on any trip to Munich.
If you are planning a trip to Munich in September, then you cannot miss Oktoberfest. Even if the saying goes that a good imitation is half the original, this does not apply to Oktoberfest. The atmosphere and everything surrounding Oktoberfest simply cannot be imitated and remains unrivalled. And by the way, it’s not just about drinking beer – the festival also features many rides and other attractions for young and old. Feel free to ask us at reception and we will show you how to get to Theresienwiese by S-Bahn or on foot.
By the way:
Oktoberfest always takes place on the last two weekends in September and the first weekend in October.
Munich really has an incredible amount to offer, yet it is not like a typical big city. With its many different districts and large green spaces, Munich manages to strike a balance between the countryside, a village and a global metropolis. And that is precisely what gives the Bavarian capital its unmistakable charm. From the Deutsches Museum to Nymphenburg Palace to breakfast at the Viktualienmarkt, Munich is unique and has something for everyone. Thanks to its excellent public transport system, especially the S-Bahn trunk line, it’s easy to get back to Marienplatz and the heart of the city. And from there, it’s only a 20-minute walk to our hotel. So you see – you could hardly find a better starting point.
This is a small plan that you can implement for your trip to Munich. But of course, the Bavarian capital has much more to offer. Feel free to contact us and we will find countless sights and activities that will make your visit even better. We look forward to your visit!
